Thomas Edison

Thomas Edison invented the light bulb in 1879. Edison had perfected a longer lasting light bulb within a few years from the first bulb he invented and soon the light bulb was being installed into buldings in New York City. The light bulb had brought light into bulidings so you didn't need candles at night anymore. For the common people, the light bulb was easy to operate and provided light in dark rooms and homes and it was realtively safe. It is a long lasting invention because we still use it today. The negative side of the light bulb however is the cost. But when it comes to having light, the cost just comes with the territory.
