Introduction

After the Industrial Revolution and Urbanization, changes were brought to Europe. Problems were created and people demanded reforms. The wanted improved conditions for the poor and the factory workers. It also sparked a rise in democracy because the common people demanded to have a voice in government. There was also a breakthrough in science and technology during this time.

The Industrilization and advance in technology and science had sparked ideas in the Europeans to go elsewhere to find resources for their industrial production. European nations competed for new markets for their goods and the rights to lands to gain more natural resources. The European nations had turned to Africa and Asia to set get these natural resources.

  • What reforms were created to give the common people more rights?
  • What inventions were invented that we still use today?
  • How Africa was divided and who got the claims to the lands?
  • How imperialism oppressed peoples of their native lands?
  • To gain more knowledge of the time period and how it relates todays world.
